Stanley Grossman writes in:
You may recall that I recently raised awareness of the intentions of anti-Israel and anti-Jewish activists to employ use of the film “With God on Our Side” at various venues, including the Cross-Party Group on Palestine meeting scheduled for next Wednesday ( Nov 10). The good news is that, after I asked one of my local MSPs to raise the matter within the Scottish Parliament, he reports that the meeting has been cancelled.
My MSP has written:
I have been working on this matter and have spoken to a number of the members of the CPG. I have this afternoon heard that the CPG meeting has been cancelled.
Hope this has been of some help.
This small victory will, of course, not put our haters off but it does show that if we act timeously and with conviction, particularly when we can show that certain events could reflect badly on reputations, then those sensible representatives in authority will support us.
Porter Speakman adds:
Just for clarification – It has been postponed, not cancelled due to a parliamentary session that will run into the afternoon therefore the cross party meeting can’t take place. The meeting is being rescheduled.
The showing of the anti-Jewish film may be postponed, but the meeting, strangely after a MSP intervened, was cancelled.
